Den Haag - Week 35

So this past P-Day all of the Den Haag missionaries went to Scheveningen and it was super fun, even though it was all cloudy and misting a little bit. Scheveningen is a famous beach and it's super beautiful. We walked on the pier and collected sandshells. The rest of the week went by in a crazy blur, but it was full of tons of small miracles. We got into contact with people we'd been wanting to get back into contact with and had some awesome appointments with members. We had three lessons and two Restorations!! That was awesome!!! It was also Martijn's birthday this week so we celebrated it at correlation. I love Den Haag and I am honestly so nervous for this upcoming Saturday, since we get transfer calls then. I don't want to leave Den Haag. I've just started to get things going again and I feel like there's so much more to do here. I love the ward and the people we are working with. I really am praying for one more transfer here because I'm not ready to go. I'm hoping for the best!!!

I hope you all had a great week! I love you all!!

Den Haag - Week 34

I had a super awesome week this week. We have a new investigator and her name is Lilly and she is an amazing vrouw. I am so grateful for her! She even came with us to church this Sunday! We also had exchanges this week and I went to institute with my favorite person ever, Kate ( a recently baptized member). I love her so much. I also got to see Daniella at Institute and Daniella told me that she is getting baptized on March 4th!!! I am SO excited for her!!! We also met a crazy lady this week who was religious but very occupied by weird theories, like why all the birds fly through Isreal before they go to places like Africa and stuff, or that Jesus was actually just in a coma for three days and that's how he was resurrected. It was interesting. On Friday, we went to this awesome concert with Kate. Savannah Stevenson is a singer for West End productions in England or something like that, and she also was Mary in the Bible Videos, so she came to the Zoetemeer church and sang for us which was awesome!! We also got to meet Deborah this week and help her clean her house, which was really nice. I love being with Deborah.

On Saturday we had a zone activity where we all played Kickball at Zuiderpark in Den Haag. The Dutch do this thing where they ice over a part of the park and then everyone goes skating on it. We didn't realize it was there so we were surprised when we saw it! It's been a really good week and this transfer is literally flying by. It's almost done. I really hope I stay in Den Haag for another transfer, I really don't want to leave here.

I love you all!!

Den Haag - Week 32

Den Haag - Week 32

This was a crazy week! It dropped a thousand degrees and is now absolutely freezing, and we biked a ton. All of our appointments pretty much fell through too, which was a disappointment, but we did have one amazing experience with one lady we meet every now and then. She's very sick so she can't meet for very long or very often, but the spirit is so strong in her home. She is amazing and I love her. We also looked up a referal by the ocean and so we stopped by for a break. It's so pretty! I took some fun pictures.

Also, some of the Elders here requested that I draw something for them. Elder Geeraert wanted a drawing of him as a guy from a band he likes, and Elder Young wanted me to draw him as Dumbledoor. It was so fun and hilarious when I gave it to them. Their reactions were priceless.

It was a good week! And tomorrow is my birthday, so we are all celebrating it today. We are going to get sushi and play games! I'm really excited.

Den Haag - Week 31

Den Haag - Week 31

It was really hard to say goodebye to Zuster Mercer this past week. I love her and I miss her way
more than I expected! I really feel jipped that I didn't get another transfer with her. We are super tight and I was really sad to see her go. It was sad to say goodebye to this district in general. This has been one of my favorite transfers and I really loved this group. But I am excited for this upcoming transfer!! It's going to be a good one.

Holland is crazy about fireworks. Literally insane. We had to be inside by four oclock because of how insane the fireworks are for the whole of New Years Eve. It literally sounds like a warzone. Some of the fireworks shake the ground!!! People are super reckless with them too. I lost hearing in one of my ears for four minutes because we walked right past a huge explosion. Sister Dixon and I partied New Years Eve and drew pictures and made goals and ate like way too many olliebollen and turkish pizzas. We would sit in our window and watch crazy fireworks. I saw a tram have to stop and wait for a firework to go off that was in the middle of the tracks. I'm surprised nothing was lit on fire because people light them right next to the apartments. You also have to tape your mail slots in your doors shut because people will throw fireworks into your house. I also saw many damaged bikes... Thank goodness mine was fine.
The next day as we were biking to church, we saw that one of the tram haltes's glass windows had been shattered and charred. That was exciting. Watch out for the glass while biking.... I have a picture below of some of the mess from new years that was outside of our apartment.

It has also gotten FREEZING this week. It is literally the worst biking through the wind and rain and frigidness. There's been no snow yet but it's possible.

Yesterday I hit my Seven Month Mark!!! Crazy! I can't believe I'm already on my 5th transfer. Next transfer I will be halfway done with my mission. Craziness. It's felt so long as so fast at the same time.

I love you all and I hope you are all doing wonderful!!!

Den Haag - Week 30

Den Haag - Week 30

This week flew by. I had exchanges this week into Haarlem with Sister Majors, who is awesome. We did lots of caroling this week, including caroling in Central Station.

We got transfer calls Christmas morning, which was honestly pretty stressful. Zuster Mercer is moving up to Gronigen, which I am super sad about. I really wish that I could have gotten another transfer with her, but I think that Heavenly Father wants to give me an opportunity to lead and take over the city.

We had an amazing Christmas dinner at the Linders, they gave us a four course dinner and everything. We have the most amazing members here and I am so grateful for the opportunity to spend another transfer here with awesome people.

I love you all and I hope your Christmases were amazing wherever you are at!!! I love jullie and I miss you!!!

Den Haag - Week 29

Den Haag - Week 29

This week has been an amazing week. I literally can't believe that it's the end of the transfer... already. I am literally taken aback. We had three really really good missionary days in a row which were amazing, wih some really special and tender experiences with investigators and members. It was a really good week. Unfortunately, I don't have a ton of time to write it out, but here are some pictures from my P-Day in Delft. :D

Den Haag - Week 28

Den Haag - Week 28

This week flew by! On Monday we celebrated Sinterklaas with an awesome family in our ward which was awesome. On Wednesday we had Zone Conference and an area of the seventy came to Den haag and taught about High Yield Low Maintenance missionaries, which was really good. I also saw Tyler at Zone Conference which was pretty cool. It's so weird that we are in the same mission. We know so many of the same people. I also got to see Zuster Smith and Zuster De Moors again, who I love so much. On Saturday, we had Stake Conference in the evening and I met a really awesome investigator in the Zoetemeer ward named Daniella. And I got to see her and talk to her the next day too at Stake Conference and the Christmas concert.

On Sunday we had a really amazing experience with one of our investigators. He has problems understanding that Heavenly Father can speak to him personally, and that the relationship with him is gradual rather than a grand glorious appearance. So we had a testimony meeting with him, with all of the missionaries serving in the Den Haag ward. And he loved it. And the spirit was so strong, and I know that he heard everything that he needed to hear. I am so grateful for the amazing people serving here and for the spirit they brought into that lesson. I know that our investigator was so grateful to hear from them. It has been one of the most spiritual lessons on my mission by far.

I love you all and hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas time! Prettige kerstdagen!!

Den Haag - Week 27

Den Haag - Week 27

I hit my six month mark this week!! I can't believe I am a third of the way through my mission. On my six month mark day, we had an AWESOME Restoration lesson with Nel that went extremely well. We also had a service project afterwards although it got really complicated because the trams decided to strike from 9 am to 2 pm so a lot of people got stuck at the train station. We did a food drive by going door to door and lots of people donated. On Saturday we had the Turkey Bowl, which was where the whole zone got together and played football together, which was crazy fun.

Unfortunately we had to drop Azadeh for now. She keeps on canceling appointments, so we're pretty disappointed about that.

Sunday was awesome, our investigator Nel actually came to church... and he loved it. He's a bouncer for clubs so the night before he had been working up until 6 am and then still came to church at 10:00 am because he said "we've got to make sacrifices for the Lord". He inspires me. He says tons of quotable phrases that we call "Nel-isms", such as ''If you want a quality answer you gotta ask a quality question" (about prayer). Nel was very enthusiastic about coming back to church, he said he loved the positive atmosphere and how welcoming everyone was. I am so excited for him!

I love all of you guys! Hope you all are having great weeks!!
