Sliedrecht - Week 11

I am not being transferred this week!! Thank goodness... I don't want to be separated from Zuster Parker yet! And I've also just finally gotten used to the ward and gotten to know some of the people here. I am hoping that I will be here for a total of three transfers at least.

Hmm... Some highlights from this week. We went over to Maria's house this week. She is an inactive who wants nothing to do with the church anymore but I think that she likes that we come over. We did some service for her, including washing her cute chihuaha and vacuuming her floors. She has a bad back and is in physical therapy so i think that we helped her a lot.

Overall this week was jam-packed with a lot of really fun unusual things. I kind of wish those fun things could have been spread out through several weeks but oh well!! On Wednesday we had zone training so we got to see the rest of the zone and President, and it was really fun. Afterwards we supported a member in our ward who had just opened a new restaurant in Rotterdam so that was cool. We also had a surprise dinner and lesson (the elders forgot to tell us it was happening) with Christina, who I absolutely adore.

On Friday I had another Brussels trip! It was kind of a surprise because the Office elders forgot to call me, and I ended up calling them because Zuster Fordiani mentioned it at Zone Training. That was pretty fun! I got a delicious Belgian waffle with banana ice cream, real strawberries, and chocolate sauce. Brussels is an absolutely gorgeous city! After the Brussels trip, we finally got to teach another lesson for Leo! We brought Zuster Mangum and Abbot, and Mangum had to achterlope on the back of Zuster Parker's bike even though her tire is super flat. That was pretty funny.

On Saturday, we got to go to the ward temple day. It counts as our P-Day though which isn't super fun but it was really awesome to see the Nederland temple.

Yesterday we found out that Elder Smith is being transferred to Eindhoven :( But the rest of Dorsely is staying. Yay!

Several Weeks worth of Photos

Sliedrecht - Week 10

Monday: I went paint-balling today!! It was CRAZY fun and I really enjoyed it. I got shot straight in the mouth and paint sprayed through the holes and into my mouth, totally numbing my cheeks and lips. It was pretty great. I was sore for the rest of the week too, from running around so much and crouching and all of that fun stuff.

On Wednesday there was one thing of lightning! That was really fun. We also had two hours of service at a members house. They live really far up, five minutes from Kinderdijk, so afterwards we had 20 minutes before our next waterbus so we biked over there super fast and snapped a couple of pictures and then biked all the way back.

On Thursday it was randomly crazy rainy.

On Friday it was Elder Stansworth's Birthday so I drew him something throughout the week. They refer to themselves as the hobbits and Elder Stansworth LOVES chocomel... so i drew him and Smith as hobbits with chocomel... saying a quote from LOTR. I thought it was pretty funny. Their reaction was hilarious hahaha.

Those were probably my highlights for the week. Sliedrecht is really slow and we do a whole lot of door knocking without a whole lot of intrest. We did get one lesson this week though! She ended up being not interested but it was still a cool experience.

Sliedrecht - Week 9

I don't have a ton of time to write today because we're going paintballing today!! I'm excited! But some stuff that happened this week. I heard that the Turkish Elders have been moved to Berlin because of the civil unrest. :/ I try to read the Metro on the trains but uh it's in Dutch lol. My dutch is getting slightly better! Yay!

I went to Brussels this week and tried my first Belgian Waffle. It is SO GOOD. I LOVED seeing Zuster Leman and everyone from my MTC group. I didn't realize how much I really did miss them!! They are such amazing people. Zuster Leman is so awesome and I loved quoting Pink Panther with her again... "Good Work Ponton!" I also got to splits with Zuster Mangum which was super fun. She is so funny.

Zuster Duncan came to us for a couple days this week and she really inspired me! She's leaving early this transfer to go back to school so she is filled with awesome wisdom. She really helped! I learned a lot from her.

A lady yelled at us yesterday for proselyting on Sunday and was super vicious! Agh! It was hurtful for the rest of the day but now I'm like whatever. haha we get those every now and then. But my companion is super awesome! I wish I could write more but maybe next week! Hopefully pictures will come next week too!
