Den Haag - Week 36

Hi everyone!!! This week was the last full week of the transfer and it went by crazy fast... probably because last Tuesday I got a really bad fever and had to stay home, and then Zuster Dixon got it the next day. I never checked my fever, but Zuster Dixon had 102.2 fever for a full day. We couldn't really move and we were burning up and it was overall pretty miserable being super sick, but we had some little miracles where Ashley brought us dinner because she had extra but had no idea that we were sick with the flu and had barely any food in our apartment.

We also got transfer calls this week!!! I was soooo nervous because I thought I might leave, but thankfully I will be staying for another transfer here in Den Haag with Zuster Dixon. I am so grateful!!! I love Den Haag so much. I really love the ward. It's a lot better to blijf (stay) than to move all the time. It's nice to have a ward family, and Den haag is a great place to stay. The people here are amazing and it's really nice being around a lot of other missionaries all of the time. I would honestly love to do a fourth here too.

I am super excited for this next transfer, we are going to do a ton of good, I know it.

(also here is a video of us eating harring, a classic Nederland food. Enjoy!)

I love you all!!!!

Den Haag - Week 33

This week was extremely difficult but at the same time full of blessings. It was also my birthday this week so that was both really fun and really hard, since I missed home more than ever that day. Last Monday, all of the missionaries in our ward went out and got Sushi together, and it was hilarious. You have to eat all of the sushi or pay extra for what you don't finish (since it was all you can eat) so the stakes were raised. it was sooo fun. We were so sick hahaha. Then after that Sister Dixon and I had a dinner appointment with the Linders so we had to eat even more food, haha. But the Linders decorated their apartment with birthday stuff for when I came in and gave me a cute present. They are amazing!

Then on Tuesday it actually was my birthday, and that was an extremely difficult day. All of our appointments fells through and one of our investigators that we are really close with dropped us. I was extremely disappointed. We go and knock a bunch of streets, and then later that evening we come home for dinner and Zuster Dixon walks into our apartment and trips over a balloon. And we look at each other and are like "what the heck... a balloon...is here..." And we keep walking and there are is a line of balloons taped on the ground heading to the couch, where a bunch of gifts are sitting with treats and a drawing!! And I cried. It was so sweet!! The ZL's and DL's had put the gifts there while we'd been out knocking streets. It was seriously the nicest thing. I was so happy. I included a picture below. It seriously made my day.

The next day we had Zone Conference, which addressed all of things I'd been struggling with and gave me a serious boost for the rest of the week. It's amazing how the Lord can speak to you. It was really amazing. I love Zone Conference. At Correlation on Saturday, the Scherf's brought me a birthday cake!!! That was so sweet of them!!!

The rest of our appointments fell through for the rest of the week... which was a jammer... And we had some really sad looking numbers, but oh well! We did our best. :)

Oh yeah, I also drew Elder Mackay as Superman.... He has yet to see it yet.

I love all of you and I miss you all so much!!! :D
